Thanks So Much

Papers Players has a sketch this week that I liked the moment I saw it.  The inspiration for this card came from the green, blue and white little flowers paper.  It was easy to put together once I picked the papers and colors I wanted to use.   I added the white ribbon and the white/blue flower to give it a crisp touch.  Enjoy!

Cross Box

So often people are looking for a special box; this is definitively a special one.  A box in the shape of a cross that you can get from Paper Crafters Sampler.   It's perfect to give a rosary for a first communion or to use for many religious occasions.  I used Baja Breeze CS and ink pad, the Stripes Folder, the leaves from Bird Builder punch, 1" and 1 1/4" circle punch, and Curly Label punch.  The IHS was computer generated.  Of course you can change the color, use an embossing folder of your choice, add flowers...the possibilities are endless. Enjoy!

Make a Wish

An easy card with a cute sketch from PPA.  Well not so easy... I wanted to use the Happy Birthday paper but had only one color CS that matched, Pool Party. UNBELIEVABLE!  I just couldn't come up with an idea for this card.  I put it aside and worked on another one .  When I got back to it I searched again and found the pink ribbon and the green CS for the base.  I used the cut-outs from the set and it was done pretty fast.  Can't push creativity, it just flows.  Enjoy!

Awash with Flowers Birthday

When I buy paper, specially a flower one, most of the time I think of the stamps I have that will mimic the paper.  In this case as soon as I saw the paper I thought of the Awash stamp set.  I wanted to make the flower in red and pink so I took out Blushing Bride ink pad and Riding Hood Red marker.  I first stamped the outline in red then the solid part in pink, but as I was getting ready to stamp I took the marker and carefully went around the border of each petal. I huffed on it and stamped.  Love the results.
I personally had never seen this done, but I will try it again and maybe even make a picture tutorial.
Should I? It's very simple.  Enjoy!

Birdbath Project

I just turned a birdbath into a love nest with a gift card.  I wanted to do something different when giving a gift card and this template from Paper Crafters Sampler did just that.  I used the wax technique with Glossy paper and Crumb Cake ink on the base as well as the bowl.  I kept it simple with the decoration as I wanted the birds to be the focal point.  I will put it inside a cellophane clear bag and tie it with ribbon.  Enjoy!

On your wedding day

This is one card I will do again with another theme, it's very creative.  I'm not quite happy with the one I created, not enough dimension.  I cut the images using the Cricut cartridge Sweetheart at 1".  I placed a white pearl in the center of each flower, the heart flower is so cute.  The sentiment is from SU.  Added Stickles to the ring to make it look like a diamond...love all my Stickles.  Enjoy!

Feliz Aniversario!

My daughter and her husband, who I love like a son, are celebrating their 4th wedding anniversary.  I wanted to make a card that was not too girly, hearts was my option.  I have to give credit to Betsy Veldman from PTI and her great video tutorial on this masking technique.   She used flowers and is not as busy as mine but the technique is the same.  I love PTI CS.  I used the colors from ColourQ and the sketch from Card Patterns. The hearts are from several SU sets and both papers were created by me.  Enjoy!

Happy Birthday "birdie"

This is my first time participating in this challenge.  The colors look good together so I decided to give it a try.  The stamp is one I had for a while and I liked the idea of using it with the colors provided.  I stamped the sentiment in grey and added a bigger bird than the one it came with.  I like the cross stitch effect when stamping on textured paper.  The flowers were cut in 2 shades of pink and a pearl was placed in the center.  I added the happy birthday for the final touch.  Enjoy!

Paper Players 100th

Congratulations Paper Players!  Lets celebrate the 100th Challenge.  I picked Challenge #74.  My long time friends bought a house and I want to take a gift to them and make a card filled with lots of good wishes.  I cut the "Home Sweet Home" and used it as the focal point inside a Nestabilities die that I distressed to create the look of another layer.  Punched 6 tiny hearts to decorate it a bit more.  Enjoy!

Welcome Baby

This is a cute idea, a sleigh basket for a little welcome baby gift to take to the hospital or to give to mom for the new baby.  I thought I could fill it with tiny socks, pacifiers or travel size baby shampoo, powder, etc.  For mom I would fill it with her favorite chocolates or candies.  I stamped the white paper using the little flower from Create a Cupcake stamp set, Melon Mambo and Old Olive markers to color it.  The bow I made with a 1/2" strip of Melon Mambo CS breaking the fibers first to make it easier to loop.

Paper Crafters Sampler has this cute sleigh template in the December "Adorned Holiday" Issue which is very easy to put together and can be decorated for many occasions.  Enjoy!

For Dad

My husband is an excellent Dad and is very proud of his daughter so, in celebrating Father's day, I thought I would make a photo card for him. The colors from ColourQ, the sketch from Freshly Made and the idea of making a project for Dad from Papercraft Star, which I came across while hopping blogs, seemed like a good combo. I used the resist technique and the 4 colors from the challenge.  The sentiment is computer generated inside and out.  The pictures are missing...have to print them. But believe me it looks a lot better with pictures.  Enjoy!

Birthday for a crafty friend

Having to make a card for a friend and craft "accomplice" can be a little stressful. The expectations are high and she looks forward to the getting the card.  The sketch from Mojo Monday is very appropriate for her. She likes layers and ribbon... Oops! No ribbon on this one.  I used my clearance pad again and love how easy it is to pick patterns. I hope she liked her card.  Enjoy!

PCS June - Penned Post

The June issue of Paper Crafters Sampler is now available!!

The June issue of the Sampler offers ideas to bring back the basics of letter writing.  The "Penned Post" issue offers an abundance of stationary kits and elegant cards to script your thoughts and get back into the beautiful art of letter writing.

This month's debut PCS template is Nib and Well Writers Box, for those who enjoy practicing the art of calligraphy. While the Nib and Well Writers Box is designed to hold bottled ink, it can be used for letter-writing purposes.  You'll find the Writers Box and others stationary sets in this issue.
