Double Backgrounds

Every Monday I make sure to check what new technique Make it Monday came up with, and this week I had to try it.  Double Backgrounds is a great idea to mix stamps and create DSP in the colors we want.  I first stamped the writing using Pear Pizzazz for my lighter color and the leaves with Old Olive for the darker. Sorry Dynamic Duos but didn't have Garden Green.  The sketch is from Mojo Monday.  Enjoy!

Cute and Fun

Cute sketch from Retro Sketches and a fun challenge from Simon Says Wednesday.  I heat embossed in clear the palm leaves, fussy cut the coconut, umbrella and straw after coloring, dry embossed on vellum the bubbles and finally for the second banner I cut thin strips.  Enjoy!

PS:  I made a gift bag and tag to match the card

Flower Shop

Not exactly what I had in mind, but its 12:30am and I need to get some sleep.  The Dynamic Duos has a color combo that I like and the sketch from i (heart) sketches got my attention, cute.  The colors are not showing well because I don't have enough light but the flowers really pop.  This is one stamp set I'm going to use often, Flower Shop.  Enjoy!

Congratulations Color Throwdown!

Congratulations Color Throwdown for 5 years of creating color combinations to inspire us.  I was able to use the sketch from Mojo Monday and the "Marine Life" from Crazy 4 Challenges.  I didn't have all the elements I wanted for these challenges but I used what I have and made the best of it.  Looking for a nice sun die, any suggestions?  I used three different embossing folders and played with the brayer to create the ocean scene.  I stamped, colored and fussy cut the fish and used a lot of dimension.  Enjoy!

Christmas in July

A bit early for Christmas, but always nice to make a card for such special occasion. I love this sweet baby Jesus stamp which I embossed in gold.  Added a red bow and mini bells as part of the Christmas spirit.  Enjoy!

Popping Flowers

Lots of dimension and popping flowers was the inspiration for this card.  I stamped the flowers in Daffodil Delight, Crisp Cantaloupe and Strawberry Slush and fussy cut them adhering with dimensional to the card.  I used a lot of different supplies old and new with the new In Colors (love them ALL)  Enjoy!

Pearls, Ribbon and Flowers

Friday Mashup challenge is Tic-Tac-Toe and I chose pearls, ribbon and flowers.  I embossed the wedding dress and used a shining edge ribbon to add glamour to the card.  Enjoy!

Birthday

I don't know how I created this card, all I know is that I wanted to use the lace wheel and mix dies.  I think I accomplished my goal.  The colors I used are from SU new In Colors and I like them all.  Let me share a "trick", if it can be called that... when using a sheer ribbon and the background is showing through, I cut a piece of CS as wide as the ribbon using same color to cover the background and enhance the color.  Enjoy!
