PCS October 2012 ~ Halloween Hoopla

Are you ready for some ghoulish and glamorous ideas for Halloween?  If so then you'll want to check out the October issue of the Sampler.  This month we share those delights for the haunting holiday. The template for the month is the "Ghouls Hangout".

My project can really be used for any occasion just by changing the accent and the colors. I don't celebrate Halloween so I created mine pumpkin themed which can be used all throughout the fall season. I also created an autumn themed one for myself with autumn leaves which I really liked. Be creative and add your own theme to create your own personalized invitation and party favor!

Here is a sneak peak of my project for this month:

Thanks a "latte"

I created this card thinking of The Paper Players after already entering one I made earlier.  Not sure if I can link two. However, I used the sketch from Freshly Made which I thought was good for the theme.  The DP are retired from SU and the cup paper I created myself by stamping the cup in different colors.  The sentiment was computer generated.  Enjoy!

Just for You

My inspiration came from Helen of H2 Designs who thought outside the box by making a card with a different kind of cup... a bra cup.  GENIUS!  Not only is the card cute, the sentiment is perfect.
The challenge from Paper Players is about cups and I couldn't pass the opportunity, I had to make one.  I used pink/black and white because this card will also be donated to Breast Cancer Centers and posted in Link Up for Cancer.  The sketch is from Retro Sketches.  Enjoy!

Fight Back

I was invited to participate in Link Up for Pink and I gladly accepted the invitation.  Cancer is an ugly illness that has touched my family as well as very close friends.  I know making a card is of no help to finding a cure but I hope it will put a smile on the person who gets it.  I will be donating all my pink cards to Breast Cancer Centers.  Please LINK and donate your cards.
I used the sketch from Cardabilities which I discovered while visiting Patrice at The Old Back Porch who also invited me to participate in her giveaway.  The card is simple but I put a lot of thought into making something different and I like what I came up with.  Enjoy!

Baby Boy

Today I have a baby shower to go to, a birthday party and a retirement party, all in one day... I'm tired already.  LOL  I had the card ready for the baby shower but I knew the theme was baseball and I wanted to make it related to that, so I made a new one.  The sketch from Sweet Stop gave me the inspiration I needed.  I went looking for a baseball paper I knew I had, punched a bunch of little yellow stars to create some texture on the Dusty Durango paper and voila, the card is done.  Enjoy!

Christmas

When I saw the sketch from Freshly Made, immediately I thought of a masculine card but that changed when I remembered the Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe challenge.  I have been wanting to make a card with blue and red and I had just the paper to use.  So I switched to Christmas, buttons, red and blue for colors.  I'm still going to make a masculine card, I think the sketch is perfect for it.  Enjoy!

Just for you

It is a challenge for me to put together a card for more than one challenge.  Today I was able to combine three... ColourQ, Retro Sketches and Flourishes Timeless Tuesday.  I stamped Melon Mambo on a lighter pink to create my background, used Basic Grey to create a shadow, Basic Black for the branch and popped two embossed pink flowers.  Enjoy!

Thanksgiving Feast

This a quick card that can be used with a greeting or as an invitation.  I am using it for Thanksgiving Feast.  I wanted to use the new core paper which I like a lot with the wood embossing folder.  I made the button with some leftover paper I had by adhering two 1" circles and punching two holes in the center.  I colored the leaves in different colors using the blender.  Enjoy!
